For the time being, Bulbapedia's nominations for administratorship are closed, and will likely reopen shortly before the English-language release of Pokémon Platinum. Meanwhile, you may read the requirements for administrator nominees below:

  • Users cannot nominate themselves.
  • Nominees must have registered for Bulbapedia on or before June 2, 2008.
  • Nominees must be a fairly active contributor to Bulbapedia, being active at least in the last six weeks (last contribution must be on or after October 21, 2008)
    • As well, nominees ought to have more than 500 mainspace contributions.
  • Nominees should demonstrate good understanding of Bulbapedia policies, style, and conventions.
  • Nominees are advised to have this usertag on their pages, so as to increase traffic to their election page.
  • Before a user is nominated, he or she must be asked if they will accept the nomination. If not, that user will not be nominated.

Users (including administrators) are free to indicate their support or opposition to a nomination. We ask that users who are voting on a candidate begin their post with either Agree or Disagree, followed by their reasoning. The bolded vote helps keep track of votes and discussion.

A month after a user has been nominated, the editorial board will make the final decision. If the user has at least 10 votes, 2/3 of which are in his or her favor, and of those against, not more than half of them are the votes of a user that is already an administrator, they will gain the position of administrator.

However, be aware that sockpuppeting or getting friends to vote in the last minute will not be tolerated–and we will find out.

  • AGREE: Top contributor, good history, nice posture.--Tavisource 03:44, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Support. He's very nice and he has a lot of great contributions. Chocolate 13:23, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Agree. Why was he not nominated before? He's one of the few I consider true contributors. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links 13:25, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Agree. He's a damn good edit, thats for sure. ~~Takoto| サソデイ 13:58, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Agree All of the above ;)--Kkllnn blastoise 22:22, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

  • Disagree--DCM((Shut the **** upSpy on My Edits)) 16:20, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Oppose - The only reason I have to say no is because the name is too short. Ever considered a name change? Bulbapedian - Talk 00:30, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
    • That's the worst reason ever. There is no rule that says my name has to be long. Besides, you're new here... ht14 00:38, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
    • What I mean is that while you may be opposing me, I would understand ONLY if you have a better reason for opposition other than my name. I know at least 2 users who have the same amount of letters, if not less... ht14 01:33, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Oppose. He needs to learn to deal with the opposition. If someone doesn't like him for no reason, he needs to accept that, because almost every admin has to deal with that, and not complain. MaverickNate 02:08, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
    • Don't get me wrong though. I'm not saying I can't deal with it. I was willing to take DCM's opposition in peace. The thing is, Bulbapedian apparently believed that the only rational reason against me was the amount of letters in my username. ht14 02:14, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
      • And, I guess I kind of voted just to get the number to ten, so that you had a fair chance to become one (since you need ten total votes)...but I don't truly think you are ready. MaverickNate 02:33, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
        • Whatever the reason, I'll understand and keep that in mind. Thanks! ht14 02:45, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Oppose. I haven't really seen anything but a lot of decent edits. I mean, that would typically be enough, but we need a considerably higher standard for administrators. We have too many as it is, and I'd prefer if we don't have any more for the time being. Maybe in the future... but not until the power of granting adminship goes back to being reserved solely for the E.B. and inactive admins have their powers rescinded. --ニョロトノ666 23:40, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Oppose no where near long enough for my opinion. I haven't seen him or her make tons of edits, and although im sure he makes fairly frequent edits, this does not and should not qualify him as admin. --Guardian of Earth |SGMS 2010

I would just like to say, WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING BULBAPEDIAN! Name too short is not a valid reason. Hell, my username is only three, and people dont shun me. Pie has three letters, and i know there are other admins with very little--DCM((Shut the **** upSpy on My Edits))

Support (15)

  • Support. She has a lot of awesome contributions. Chocolate 21:26, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Support. To be honest, I think she would make a perfect admin. ~~Takoto - サソデイ 23:01, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Support. A very kind, understanding user. She also knows what she is doing in any situation. Knowing how to take a good scan is a major plus. Very devoted, based on how she has cards from Base Set to Stormfront. A very good user who I think would be a very great help if she had special admin powers. MaverickNate 02:42, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Support...ooo...nice...me liek this person to be admin...very helpful, good edits...and not to mention, very observant and smart in wiki code...yes, I would know. Hey, I already did not mention the fact that she is very friendly...okay?--Tavisource 08:08, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Support. When you check the Recent Changes, I almost always see her name. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links 08:10, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Agree changed my mind--DCM((Shut the **** upSpy on My Edits))
  • Support Same reasons as stated above. MathijsP 15:29, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
  • For. Nice job on the Stormfront TCG. It's good to see a user who can get ahold of the pack so quickly, as it just came out. Bulbapedian - Talk 00:36, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Support she's a good user and she's doing something all the time GoldsWigglytuff 15:33, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Support She is a great contributor to the wiki and can spot errors or Vandalism a blink of light, May be harsh, But that is what we need in adminship, A serious, Hard-working Admin. --Force Fire 10:54, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Support I haven't been on Bulbapedia for half a year yet and I can still see that Kogoro is an example of the best kind of user. Plus, I get a warm fuzzy feeling nominating people since I'd like to be an adimin somebday. LordArceus 19:03, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Agree Once again, all of the above--The Kkllnnator blastoise 20:45, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Agree. Level-headed, and has been helping to revert vandals at odd times of day already... giving her admin tools could only help in that regard. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 12:18, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
  • Agree. She's a lot nicer than some people around here *cough*. Sorry I wasn't at the 'pedia for like a kajillion years. I don't know if we're supposed to change the heading or what, so if it doesn't change itself, I'll have to go change it. --DialgaRULES 23:51, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
  • Support. A good user. Receiving forwarded information from when I slept was a plus. Gywall(Talk) 11:18, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Oppose (6)

  • Disagree. Just because I hate nominations and I prefered the older original way of having to work to greatness.~Ποκεμανιακα0β 23:35, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Disagree. I second that. However, my other reasons are that she only has barely over the minimum edit requirement and has only been actively contributing since October. So, for now, I say no. I think she may make a very good admin at some point in the future. --ニョロトノ666 02:36, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Disagree Politoed makes a good point there, if Kogoro has only been contributing since October, I don't think there's quite enough experience. Yeah, quality over quantity, but still. The Dark Fiddler - Smarter than the average bear! 16:44, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Disagree For the same reason stated by Politoed, and The Dark Fiddler. Only one month's worth of contributions is nowhere near enough experience for adminship. Trainer-c 19:36, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Disagree. I agree with all of the above Disagrees. --Gitgo567 08:50, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Disagree. A little bit strict.-Billy4b2004 10:46, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

I think people are missing the point with the whole adminship thing. You nominate a user purely if a situation comes up where it is neccesary to have one, NOT to nominate all the decent users in case something comes up, as that is overkill. Only nominate as it is needed. [/my2cents]Glinn Mgraw 09:24, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

I agree. Chocolate clearly stated on Kogoro's talk page that he was just looking for someone to nominate, which definitely isn't how you do it. I'm not going to support or oppose this, and here's why: Kogoro, in terms of card scans, has been an absolutely amazing contributor, and I'm very pleased to see her level of dedication here. However, she's not been here long. So, I won't support or oppose this time, but if a time comes that someone nominates her because they believe she is ready to be an administrator, I will pledge my full support. Cipher (Talk) 10:47, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Actually I, believe nominations should no longer take place and the BulbaBoard decides instead.~Ποκεμανιακα0β 02:36, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Über seconded. --ニョロトノ666 03:02, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
I agree, however, there may be some users that have had their hopes up to become admins for a long time, and seeing as they were elected puts even more excitement for some. ht14 16:40, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Thirded. Decisions about user promotions should rest either with the editorial board or with the Bulbapedia administrators, in my opinion. Cipher (Talk) 22:00, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
This discussion belongs on the Nominations talk page. --Raijinili 08:33, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
